Airmen participate in FOD walk

Approximately 40 Airmen assigned to the 940th Air Refueling Wing participated in a foreign object debris walk of the flightline March 12, 2017, at Beale Air Force Base, California. FOD walks are a crucial part of flightline safety because even the smallest debris can cause significant monetary damage to the aircraft, as well as endanger the Airmen.

Security Forces provides FAST protection to aircrews in austere locations

Last month, the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing flew more than 600 sorties in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Many of these missions involved flying into austere locations to deliver cargo and personnel to forward-deployed locations to aid in the fight against ISIS. Regardless of their hazardous surroundings, aircrew members must remain focused on their task at hand so that they can quickly perform their mission and return home.

Beale trains for two-ship tactical formation flying

Two KC-135 Stratotankers from the 314th Air Refueling Squadron with the 940th Air Refueling Wing practice a two-ship tactical formation training sortie during a unit training assembly at Beale Air Force Base, California on Feb. 11, 2017. The 314 ARS have to formation train for tactical purposes and the unit training assembly is an opportune time for traditional reserve maintainers and pilots to all train and fly together. Early Saturday morning, between the two aircraft they refueled eight F-15 Eagles from the 173rd Fighter Wing stationed at Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base, Oregon. The 173 FW mission is to train the most superior air-to-air combat pilots in the world.
