Air Force to field new bladder relief device, works toward ‘suite of options’

The Air Force recognized that current devices were not optimized for long-duration sorties, and as a result, aircrew were routinely dehydrating themselves to delay the need for bladder relief. Dehydration can lead to reduced endurance and G-force tolerance while in the aircraft, as well as other negative health issues.

The PMO will provide centralized management of the core LMR network and subscriber procurements for all Airmen and Guardians. Traditionally, management of the program was handled at the major command level. Through this initiative, the office aims to improve service and save the Air and Space Forces money and resources.

5 African American women who made U.S. military history

February is the celebration of African American history and the accomplishments of Black people around the world. There are many female pioneers in African American history with various accomplishments that come to mind. Some of these pioneers are Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Rosa Parks, Madam C.J. Walker and Shirley Chisholm. Many black women also broke barriers while serving in the U.S. Military. These women worked on the front lines or provided support to U.S. soldiers and civilian employees.

Employee Assistance Program provides range of assistance for civilian employees

The Air Force Materiel Command Employee Assistance Program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is developed to provide civilian employees confidential resources to help manage normal, everyday life challenges that may affect job performance and personal well-being. EAP services are also available for dependent and other household family members to assist with any life challenges, no matter how large or small, that adversely affect their ability to function successfully in their day-to-day operations.
