Air Force Reserve led KC-46A candidate bases announced

Today the Department of the Air Force announced six candidate bases for future Reserve-led KC-46A Pegasus operations with plans for 12 permanently affixed aircraft to be stationed at the base chosen.

Beale trains for two-ship tactical formation flying

Two KC-135 Stratotankers from the 314th Air Refueling Squadron with the 940th Air Refueling Wing practice a two-ship tactical formation training sortie during a unit training assembly at Beale Air Force Base, California on Feb. 11, 2017. The 314 ARS have to formation train for tactical purposes and the unit training assembly is an opportune time for traditional reserve maintainers and pilots to all train and fly together. Early Saturday morning, between the two aircraft they refueled eight F-15 Eagles from the 173rd Fighter Wing stationed at Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base, Oregon. The 173 FW mission is to train the most superior air-to-air combat pilots in the world.

Beale Reserve wing stands up historic CE squadron

Lt. Col. Bradley G. King assumed command of the 940th Civil Engineer Squadron from presiding officer Col. Roderick T. Grunwald, 940th Mission Support Group commander, on Sept. 11, 2016, at Beale Air Force Base, California. The 940 CES provides reserve emergency response and firefighting capabilities to augment the base civil engineering mission.
