940 ARW wing commander retires

BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Vice Commander of the 940th Air Refueling Wing, Air Force Reservist Col. David L. Mitchell is presented a retirement flag that flew over the U.S. capital from a member of Beale AFB honor guard during his retirement ceremony Sept. 13, 2008. All members of U.S. armed forces, which include guard and reserve, are entitled to a retirement flag. Col. Mitchell retired from the Air Force Reserves after 35 years of honorable service. He served as 940th ARW Vice Wing Commander for two years and had logged more than 8,500 flight hours in cargo and refueling aircraft. (U.S. Force Photo/ Tech. Sgt. Brandie Brockett)
