940th ARW Chaplain Retires

Air Force Reservist Chaplain Lt. Col. Michael Murphy conveys his sentiments at his retirement ceremony during a Unit Training Assembly weekend at Beale Air Force Base, Calif. Although he joked about being grounded by a broken aircraft "stuck" for weeks at Hickam AFB, Hawaii and other highlights of his career, the Chaplain lauded his 940th Air Refueling Wing chapel staff and the unit, saying there was "no better place to be" during these difficult times. The dynamic spiritual leader for the 940th ARW retired in June with more than 25 years of military service. Murphy will be going on sabbatical to Ireland sponsored by his parish at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Citrus Heights, Calif. (U.S. Air Force Photo/ Staff Sgt. Luke Johnson)
