Maj. Gen. Sidney Novaresi part of Reserve history
Maj. Gen. Sidney Novaresi, former commander of the 940th Military Airlift Group, the forerunner of the 940th Air Refueling Wing, is flanked in this 1978 picture by, left, Col. Charles B. Coleman, and, right, Col. James C. Wahleithner. They were at the dedication of the 403rd Rescue and Weather Reconnaissance Wing at Keesler AFB, Miss. Today, Col. (later Maj. Gen.) Wahleithner's son, Staff Sgt. Jared Wahleithner, serves as a boom operator for the 314th Air Refueling Squadron, Beale AFB, Calif. General Novaresi commanded the 314th in 1960 when it was a Troop Carrier Squadron at McClellan AFB. (U.S. Air Force Photo)
