Newest airlifter maintained in World War II hangar
The 154th Maintenance Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, swarm over a C-17 which dwarfs the World War II era hangar it sits in. The C-17s are too big to fit all the way inside the hangars with the doors closed, and historic preservation prevents modification of the hangars. Aircraft inspections have to be conducted at the wash rack outside the hangar, weather permitting. (US Air Force photo/Master Sgt Ellen L Hatfield)
