2007 food drive for 940th ARW makes season bright for many families

The yearly canned food drive sponsored by the 940th Air Refueling Wing, Beale Air Force Base, Calif., was a success again for 2007. This small Air Force Reserve unit located on an active duty base has organized this food drive since they moved from McClellan AFB in 1998, according to Chief Master Sgt. Mary Chaipelli, superintendent of the 940th Mission Support Flight. Holiday baskets with hams or turkeys and canned and dry foods were made up for 13 families of 940th Reservists. All remaining donations went to other base families through the 9th Reconnaissance Wing's Airman's Attic, which benefits about 400 families. (US Air Force photo/Maj Robert Couse-Baker)
