940th Wing Reservists Provide Temporary Comfort to Earthquake Victims
In a text message on Jan. 28 from Homestead Air Reserve Base, 940th Services Flight member Master Sgt. Henry Brown wrote, “Processing the Haitian people coming through. Assisting them off the plane, giving their luggage to customs to get inspected, wiping down cots and changing the linen. It’s kind of a bed-down mission, only they don’t sleep here. Once their bus is here, they’re on their way. We are just expediting that process and making them comfy at the same time.” Master Sgt. Brown and six other 940th Services Flight volunteers deployed last month to Homestead ARB in support of Operation Unified Response. Due to changes in the mission, the group returned to Beale Air Force Base, Calif., on Jan. 29, 2010. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Master Sgt. Henry Brown)
