BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. –
U.S. Rep. John Garamendi, California's 3rd Congressional District representative and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, addressed Beale Air Force Base reservists during a breakfast meeting at Duke's Diner in Olivehurst, Calif., Jan. 6.
At the town hall-style gathering called by the congressman, Garamendi spoke with 940th Wing leadership and approximately 30 members of the 13th Reconnaissance Squadron regarding the status of their reserve unit and the future of the Northern California base.
"Through three wars over the last decade and years of budget uncertainty, Beale airmen - both active duty and reservists - have displayed remarkable professionalism and bravery. I offer my highest gratitude for your service," said Garamendi in a release issued by the congressman's office following the morning meeting.
"My staff and I are fully committed to ensuring the men and women at Beale have the tools they need to perform the critical defense mission of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance."
