News briefs is a list of unit events and information for 940th Air Refueling Wing personnel.
Wing assumption of command ceremony
An Assumption of Command Ceremony for the 940th Air Refueling Wing Commander is scheduled for Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. in Dock 5. Maj. Gen. Robert Duignan, 4th AF Commander, will preside over the event. All wing personnel are encouraged to attend.
Military Equal Opportunity officer needed
A selection board will be held during the November UTA to select a new Military Equal Opportunity Officer. Company grade officers and enlisted personnel eligible for commissioning are encouraged to submit a resume for the position. For questions or to submit a resume, contact Maj. Computer training due
Due to a compliance change for the annual Information Assurance Training, many wing personnel must accomplish IA training before Oct. 1, or their account will be disabled. IA training must be accomplished before the one year anniversary. To complete the training, go to the Air Force Portal and navigate to Information Assurance Training in the training menu. After completing training, print two copies of the certificate and provide one to MSgt John Sebrasky and keep one for records.
Chiefs retire
Three 940th Air Refueling Wing chief master sergeants are scheduled to retire during the September Unit Training Assembly. Chief Master Sgt. Don Pope, 940th Civil Engineering Squadron, will retire at 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at the 940 CES; Chief Master Sgt. Roy Lewandowski, 940th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, will retire at 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at Recce Point Club; Chief Master Sgt. Sandra Scammell, 940th Services Flight, will retire at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Beale Community Activities Center.
Annual wing reunion
The 11th annual 940th Air Refueling Wing reunion is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at Freedom Park at McClellan Air Force Base.
