BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. –
The 940th Air Refueling Wing will hold a First Sergeant Selection Board Jan. 5, 2007. All senior master sergeants, master sergeants, and technical sergeants, who are eligible for immediate promotion to master sergeant, are eligible to apply by Dec. 3, 2006.
To apply, please submit a one-page resume, a letter of intent explaining why the nominee wants to be a First Sergeant, and a letter of recommendation from the person's First Sergeant. Nominees must also meet the following requirements:
-- ASVAB scores above 45 in the Administrative category and 62 in General
-- Posses a 7-Skill Level
-- A passing fitness score of 75 within the last 60 days
Please submit packages to 940 MSF/DPMSA, attention to Master Sgt. Brian Marr, by Dec. 3, 2006.
To meet the board, applicants are required to wear the long or short-sleeved blue shirt with tie and all authorized ribbons and badges. To check individual authorized ribbons, log on to the Virtual MPF via the Air Force Portal. Additionally, all nominees should be familiar with the roles and responsibilities of the First Sergeant according to AFI 36-2113.
Selected applicants must complete the following requirements after accepting a First Sergeant position:
-- Attend the First Sergeants Academy within 12 months of being assigned as a First Sergeant
-- Serve as a First Sergeant for a minimum of three years from the time of FSA graduation
-- Complete the Senior NCO Academy within 12 months of graduating from the FSA
