News Briefs is a list of unit events and information for 940th Air Refueling Wing personnel.

940th ARW Dining Out
A 940th Air Refueling Wing Dining Out is Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Recce Point Club, Beale AFB. This military tradition will honor the wing and it's proud heritage. Dress for officers is mess dress, mess dress or semi-formal uniform for the enlisted, and suit and tie for civilians. The menu is a choice of seafood, steak, chicken or vegetarian. Cost is $25 for officers, chiefs and government civilians, $20 for E-8s and E-7s, and $15 for E-6 and below. This is a Wing Top Three sponsored event. California Air National Guard job fair
The California Air National Guard will hold a job fair for 940th Air Refueling Wing personnel from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 in Dock 5 at Beale AFB. A briefing will begin at 1 p.m. California ANG will be recruiting for areas in: Moffett Field, Fresno ANG, Sacramento, and Beale AFB Intelligence Squadron.

Worship service
Beginning Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, the 940th Air Refueling Wing chaplain will offer a non denominational worship service during every unit training assembly weekend at the Valley Chapel, Beale Air Force Base, Calif. The 30 minute service begins at 7 a.m. For more information or questions, please contact the 940th ARW Chaplain's office at 530-634-1813/1814.

Veteran's Day Parade Volunteers
The 940th ARW is participating in the Marysville Veterans Day Parade, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007. Volunteers are needed to either march in formation or walk along side handing out goodies to the spectators. All wing members interested should meet at 10 a.m. at the corner of 7th and D streets in downtown Marysville. Family members are encouraged to participate. Medical Clinic hours
The medical clinic will be open from 8 to 11:45 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 for Reservists during the drill weekend. Services include physical and occupational examinations, the Immunization Clinic, and gas mask and respirator fit testing at Flight Medicine. The clinic will be closed Sunday, Nov. 4, for training.

Employer awards
The Department of Defense opened the nomination season for the 2008 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award on November 1, 2007. National Guard and Reserve members and their families are eligible and encouraged to nominate employers who have gone above and beyond in their support of military employees. Nominations will be accepted at www.esgr.mil from until Jan. 21, 2008. For more information, visit the www.esgr.mil.

Portland Reserve wing reunion
The 304th Rescue Squadron/939th Rescue Wing and 939th Air Refueling Wing 50th Year Reunion is June 20-22, 2008. All past and present wing members are invited. For more information, visit the reunion website at http:www.rescuereunion.org.

California aerospace museum free admission
The Aerospace Museum of California located at Sacramento's former McClellan Air Force Base, Calif. is now open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 10a.m. to 5 p.m. Military members with ID and their families are free! Tickets currently cost: Adults $6, Seniors 60+ $5, youth ages 13-18 $5, children ages 6-12 $3, children 5 and under free. Museum members are free with a membership card. Cell phone use while driving on base
All vehicle drivers must use a "hands-free" device to talk on a cell phone while driving on Beale Air Force Base. The state of California will also begin requiring hands-free cell phone devices beginning July 2008. For more information regarding the base law, please contact the 940th Judge Advocate at 634-1824. California Army National Guard positions
The California Army National Guard has positions available in Northern California as well as Guard bonuses, flying positions, the Warrant Officer program and Commissioned Officer positions. For more information, please call SGT William Jones, 530-237-6183.

Reservists must check/update their emergency contact information at least once a year or during life changes such as marriage, births, etc. This information is also required for deployment. To update personal emergency data, go to http://ask.afpc.randolph.af.mil click on the vMPF Self Service Applications button, then click on Record of Emergency Data located on the left side of the screen under Most Popular Applications. Please verify and update all requested information.
