BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. –
A network administrator with the 940th Air Refueling Wing was recently named the wing's Non-Commissioned Officer of the year for 2008.
Air Force Reservist, Tech. Sgt. John Gallant, with the 50th Intelligence Squadron was very appreciative of this prestigious award.
Sergeant Gallant has been in Air Force for 14 years with four years of active duty experience. He is currently on active duty orders supporting the 48th Intelligence Squadron at Beale AFB.
He feels his unique contribution to the wing is he is part of a reserve unit that supports the regular Air Force on a daily basis. He believes his unit is making a difference in defending our freedom.
"(Our unit) has an impact on combating terrorism or aiding in natural disasters here in the U.S.," Sergeant Gallant said.
Sergeant Gallant enjoys the camaraderie and accomplishments shared during Unit Training Assemblies and deployments with the 940th.
"I enjoy being with a great group of people from varying backgrounds who make up a super organization," said Sergeant Gallant. "I also liked to travel with the (KC-135) tankers and see different parts of the world."
In his off duty time, he enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities, such as hiking and running.
He is very thankful for all of the support he has received during his time with the 940th ARW.
