A 14 year veteran of the Air Force with four years in the Reserves is the 940th Air Refueling Wing's January Citizen Warrior in the Spotlight.

Master Sgt. Kelly Derrington, who is the non-commissioned officer in charge of the command section and a traditional reservist here, said she enjoys the camaraderie during unit training assembly weekends and being part of the 940th ARW team.

"I like the high visibility, and the fast pace of the UTA weekends," said Sergeant Derrington. "I must always be on my toes and ready to make changes very quickly, there is never a boring moment here."

She stated her most rewarding opportunity with the 940th was working in the information control center during the wing's 2008 Operational Readiness Inspection.

Between UTAs, Sergeant Derrington works as an executive assistant to a financial advisor.

In her free time, Sergeant Derrington enjoys working out at the gym, shopping and spending time with her friends.
