Civic and corporate leaders from communities across Northern California attended Beale Day 2010 on April 16. The annual event was an opportunity for area businessmen and local dignitaries to visit Beale Air Force Base and learn about the various missions located here.

Participants toured the Air Force Ammunition Center and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, the 548th Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance Group, and the 7th Space Warning Squadron. Guests also saw demonstrations of the working dogs by 9th Security Forces and static displays of the U-2 and RQ-4 hosted by pilots and ground crew of the 13th Reconnaissance Squadron and 99th Reconnaissance Squadron. The history of Beale Air Force Base was highlighted by stops at the World War II German internment camp and the SR-71 static display at the Air Power Park.

"We were thrilled that several employers of our Traditional Reservists were able to join us for this event," said Colonel Jeffrey Mineo, 940th Wing Commander. "It was an opportunity for us to let them know how vital their support is to what we do as an Air Force Reserve Command wing."
