940th Wing Reservists joined the 9th Reconnaissance Wing for their "Ability to Survive and Operate" training day, during the October Unit Training Assembly.

"This training is a good opportunity for Traditional Reservists to train in something we do every day," said Tech Sgt. Christopher Loosa, the non-commissioned officer in charge of the 9th Civil Engineering Squadron's Readiness and Emergency Management Flight.

The servicemembers arrived by bus to Dragontown and proceeded through transition control points, which are used to control movement between sectors to minimize contamination. Once through the control point, they separated into four groups to do hands-on training in Contamination Avoidance, Self Aid Buddy Care, Explosive Ordinance Reconnaissance and Post Attack Reconnaissance.

Loosa said this gives them the opportunity to expound on the classroom material.

The 940th and 9th CE Readiness and Emergency Management Flight work together on a daily basis.

"It's a very good cohesive working team," said Loosa.
