2013 Teen Summit accepting applications

The Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard announced the 2013 AFR/ANG Teen Leadership Summit are currently accepting applications through April 15.

The AFR/ANG Teen Leadership Summit locations this summer are in Dahlonega, Ga., and Estes Park, Colo.

The Leadership Summit is a week-long camp for 14-18 year old dependent teens of current Air Force Reserve or Air National Guard military members.

At both Summits, leadership classes will be taught throughout the week and teens will learn about the mission of the AFR and ANG. Summits also include military traditions, community service projects, musical performances, and environmental education classes.

To be eligible to attend an AFR/ANG Teen Leadership Summit you must:
 
- Be a current AFR or ANG teen dependent 14-18 years old. Teens of retirees or extended family members are not eligible. Priority goes to those 15-18 years old.
- Be physically/mentally capable and willing to participate in all camp activities.
- Attest that all information is truthful and accurate. Parent/legal guardian must agree.
- Fill out the application form completely. Essays must be written by the teen...not the parent!
- Fill out all required forms (4-H Code of Conduct, Transportation Agreement, 4-H Medical Information, and Adventure Waivers) upon acceptance.
- Priority goes to first time Teen Summit Participants
