Beale Air & Space Expo 2018

BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, CALIF. -- Beale Air Force Base hosted an Air and Space Expo this past weekend with an itinerary filled with performances of aircraft representing different generations of air power.

"It's been seven years since we've had our last air show," said Col. Andrew Clark, 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander. "We decided it was time to restart the program here and the result has been fantastic."

According to Clark, the air show director along with his support staff were responsible for ensuring that everything worked in synchronization.

The team made sure all the pieces of the air show executed their roles, to include performers, static displays, vendors and others associated with the event. Beale hosted the F-22 Raptor and Patriot demo teams as well as other aircraft from various Department of Defense components.

"They did a phenomenal job," said Clark. "All those parts and pieces had to come together in a short amount of time."

The base plans on hosting another event in two years, similar to the cycle that other bases run their air show program on.

"It's a fantastic opportunity to open the gates to the public and have those in the local area see what we do and showcase our amazing Airmen," said Clark.
