BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, California –
Col. Stephanie W. Williams, 940th Air Refueling Wing commander, held a commander’s call Sept. 9, 2017 during a unit training assembly at Beale Air Force Base, California.
Briefers from around the wing informed Reserve Citizen Airmen about various topics centered on readiness.
“Each one of you makes the mission happen,” said Williams. “We have to be ready, personally and professionally.”
Each topic, from finance to safety, stressed all 940th ARW Airmen stay up-to-date and mission-ready.
Williams gave Airmen the opportunity to ask questions to her and Chief Master Sgt. Carmen Madia, 940th ARW command chief.
In addition to the commander’s call, readiness also tied in with Wingman Day, held Sept. 10.
The Air Force performs wingman training annually, as part of the Comprehensive Airman Fitness program. This year’s theme was “Remember the Little Things.”
Per Chief of Staff of the Air Force’s direction, the 940th ARW participated in training at the squadron level, rather than collectively as a wing.
Each squadron discussed this year’s topic in smaller groups and participated in their own team building activities.
“The squadron is the heartbeat of the Air Force,” said Williams.
