ISR Airman honored during AFA Conference
WASHINGTON --
Staff Sgt. Aaron Tobler was one of the Air Force's 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year recognized during the Air Force Association's Air, Space and Cyber Conference in Washington, D.C., Sept. 19, 2016.
Tobler is a geospatial intelligence analyst with the 50th Intelligence Squadron, Beale Air Force Base, California, a classic associate unit under the 655th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
An Air Force Reservist, Tober was recognized for his contributions to the Air Force's intelligence efforts. According to his nomination citation, Tobler was requested repeatedly to fill active duty ISR operations, logging hundreds of combat mission hours. He exploited 45 high-value targets, providing key Indicator and Warnings to seven combatant commands.
He provided intelligence support to Special Operations resulting in terrorist camps and associated members neutralized. He identified terrorist weapon manufacturing compounds which resulted in network being crippled and destroyed. He facilitated joint task force convoy over-watch, with more than 2,000 miles cleared with all forces secured and hostile combatants marginalized.
He earned Project Management Professional Certification in addition to be awarded Master Analyst Program Certificate from Sacramento State as part of civilian employment with the State of California.
Additionally, he lead “Friendship Place” charity event attended by the President of the United States and first family, raising more than $4 million for research and grant writing.
