Colonel JOSEPH R. ORCUTT

Colonel Joseph R. Orcutt is the Commander of the 940th Maintenance Group, Beale Air Force Base, California.  He is responsible for the maintenance operations of eight unit equipped KC-135R Stratotankers.  The 940th Air Refueling Wing performs in-flight air refueling, cargo and passenger airlift, aeromedical evacuation, as well as humanitarian support; during peacetime or in support of worldwide contingency operations.

 

 

 

Colonel Orcutt entered active duty as an aircraft maintenance officer with an educational assignment en route to his first duty station.  As a distinguished graduate from Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course, he went on to become Chief, Munitions Production followed by two flight commander roles obtaining back-shop and flight line experience at Tyndall AFB, Florida.  He completed his active duty requirements as an assistant to the 47th Operations Support Squadron commander at Laughlin AFB, Texas and returned to the Air Force Reserve as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) assigned to the Aircraft Maintenance Depot at Hill AFB, Utah. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Orcutt was the IMA to the Vice Commander, Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill AFB, Utah.

As a civilian, he was employed by International Business Machines as a supply & logistics planner then returned to the aviation career field as an Airport Safety Officer for the City and County of San Francisco.  Currently, he is an Airport Duty Manager at Oakland International Airport and is Chairman of the Planning Commission for the City of Tracy.
