Col. Aaron J. Heick is Commander, 940th Maintenance Group at Beale Air Force Base, California. He is responsible for maintenance operations of eight unit equipped KC-135R Stratotankers.The 940th Air Refueling Wing performs in-flight air refueling, cargo and passenger airlift, aeromedical evacuation, and humanitarian support; during peacetime or in support of contingency operations.

Col. Heick is a 1996 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Upon graduation from UCLA, he was sent to Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, where he filled several positions in the supply arena.  Subsequently, he served three years on the northern tier at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota filling positions in fuels management and aircraft maintenance. Upon completion of his active duty commitment, Col. Heick transferred to the Air Force Reserve at March ARB, CA, where he filled numerous positions at both the wing and numbered air force levels.

Prior to his current assignment, Col. Heick was the Deputy Group Commander, Maintenance, 477th Fighter Group, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska. Col. Heick has an extensive amount of experience in both aircraft maintenance and logistics. He has commanded two squadrons, one as a traditional reservist and the other as an Air Reserve Technician. In addition, during his fifteen year career in the Air Force Reserve, he has been mobilized three times in support of Operations ENDURING and IRAQI FREEDOM.
